
The Safeguarding Department have released the 2024 Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia Safeguarding Report. Are you familiar with Microsoft office, especially Word and Publisher, or seeking to gain experience with it? If so we are looking for an assistant volunteer to help in the office with the production of the newsletter. The tasks involved take roughly 2-3 hours a week once you are familiar. The work will be undertaken on either a Friday or Saturday in preparation for the first mass of the weekend on Saturday at 5pm. 59 Club - Payment for the 59 club is now due for a further year. Payment should be made by Standing Order in the Bank or by Cheque for £48. Cheques should be made payable to Parish of Gorseinon and Ref 59 written on the back of the cheque please. Cash payments will also be taken. The Draw is made on the first Saturday of the Month with the Bonus Ball of the National Lottery and the winner gets £50. The Chrism Mass for Cardiff-Menevia will be held in St Joseph’s cathedral on Tuesday 15th April at 11.30am. If you would like to sing in the choir for that Mass there are rehearsals at the cathedral on Wednesday 19th and 26th March and Thursday 10th April all starting at 6pm and ending at 7.30. A 5-day version of the Ignatian Exercises offered specifically for men (whether lay or ordained), this retreat will be preached by the Benedictine Monks of St Joseph’s Abbey, France. Founded in 1988, this community has retained its charism of a specific apostolate to men and of engaging them through a shortened version of the Ignatian Exercises. One-to -one direction will be offered alongside the talks. Priests are welcome to attend and concelebrate or celebrate their own Mass.
